Ayu Mirage Theme with UI and JSX highlighting Blast Dark Here is the mirage theme with the with the corresponding mirage UI and JSX syntax highlighting. ![]() ![]() The mirage theme is a bit lighter (but still dark). The Dark variant is very similar to the Atomic theme’s Cyan variant. The Ayu theme for sublime has a dark, light, and mirage variant. There are many dark variants (and light variants) that are very nice, here is the dark cyan version of the theme with the default dark UI: Atomic Theme / Dark Cyan Variant with JSX Syntax Highlighting Gruvbox Theme The Atomic Theme for Sublime Text 4 comes with several different variants. You’ll want to put the following code into your settings to optimize your experience with this theme: "always_show_minimap_viewport": true, You’ll need to put this code in your user preferences – to find this run ctrl-shift-p and type settings, then add this code to the user settings on the right panel. The theme also comes with some recommended settings to make it more user friendly and look more like Atom. ![]() It is based of the default light and dark themes for the Atom text editor, so Atom junkies (I used to be one) might find that this theme puts theme right at home. Theme One has a light and dark syntax theme as well as a UI theme. There is also a paid version called Dracula Pro, but the free version is very nice. The basic version of Dracula is MIT licensed. Now you’re ready to install custom themes – Here are my favorite custom themes: Dark Themes Draculaĭracula has vibrant purples, yellows, and greens, along with some light blues. To setup package control type ctrl-shift-p to open up the command palette then type install package control and hit enter. In addition to these default themes you can install custom themes from Package Control. The Auto Sublime Theme with Mariana Syntax theme Custom Themes Here are the default syntax themes pictured below: The default themes out of the box are: Default Syntax Themes for Sublime Text 4 With Sublime Text 4 you can customize the syntax and the overall UI. One of those customizations is through theming. Sublime Text 4 looks great out of the box but everyone I know, including myself, loves to customize their editor to their own personal coding needs. These packages are as easy to install and setup as VS Code and Atom as well. You can, if you need to extend it’s functionality install a package using Package Control with most of the packages being MIT licensed. Sublime just lets you focus on the Code and doesn’t include all the stuff you don’t need. ![]() You may still be asking, “why pay if you can get VS Code for free or use Atom for free?” Those are great editors but I find they are slow in comparison and all the bells and whistles that VS Code offers really don’t enhance the coding experience, for me the stuff is overload and slows me down. Since I use my code editor every day and you can earn a lot of money in web or software development I feel it’s a fairly nominal cost, especially since the license is per user, not per device (meaning you can use it on all your devices under one license). You’ll have to pay for a license if you use it for an extended period of time but it’s current (at the time of this writing) $99 license gives you three years of updates and allows you to use the latest version of the editor within that three year period without upgrading your license. On of the best code editors is Sublime Text. ![]()
